Happy new year guys! am glad we made it to 2015, i wish all the good things of life in this new year, and we shall live to experience many more years in good health and wealth.
Lets go down memory lane and check out the fashion trends that rocked the year 2014, and made it a fabulous one. When i say fashion trends that rocked 2014, i mean the what a lot of people were crazy about last year. The list are enormous, but I'll give you a list of 14 things that were in vogue last year. They include
1. The Iro and Buba Tulip Style
Its is also know as the knot wrap trend and it was a very popular trend among ladies last year. Young ladies rocked this style in silk, chiffon and velvet materials, and it is a trend that was popular at every owambe gathering that happened last year.
2. Danshiki Shirts and Gowns
The danshiki shirt and gown was also a very popular fashion trend last year. It was worn by both the old and young, average Nigerians and even celebrities. The likes of Wizkid, Olamide and Boj wore them in their musical videos. This fashion trend is not likely to go anytime soon.
3. Tie Dye Jean
The tie and dye jeans which is also referred to as the Rhianna jeans by Nigerian ladies is also a fashion trend that rocked 2014. It was was rocked by most Nigerian ladies because of its unique look, and because it goes with any kind of top. I don't see this trend going anytime soon, and i predict it will rock 2015 also.
4. Aviator Sunglasses
The aviator sunglasses was also a popular fashion trend that rocked 2014, most especially the tinted ones. It can be worn on both corporate and casual wears. Apart from being trendy, it also gives the wearer a unique look.
5.Ninja Bun Braids
The Ninja bun braid style is a popular hairstyle that rocked 2014, most ladies with braids styled their hair in this particular style. I don't see this hair style going anytime soon.
6. The Crop Top and Maxi Skirt Combination
Before 2014, the crop top trend was not really common in Nigeria because of the way it bares one's midriffs. But in 2014, people rocked the crop tops in ways that hardly revealed their midriffs which include combining it with an high waist maxi skirt. This combination hardly reveals one's midriffs.and it became a very popular fashion trend that rocked 2014.
7. Mullet Skirts and Dresses
The mullet trend also rocked 2014, it was very common at red carpet events and was also worn as casual outfits. I predict this fashion trend will rock year 2015 too because i don't see the trend going anytime soon.
8. Bucket Hats
The bucket hat trend is a a popular fashion trend especially among the guys. It is a trend that was rocked by even celebrities like Chris Brown, Burna boy, and the likes.

11. Straw Curls
Yay! the straw curls are back and better, the trend was very popular among Nigerian ladies in 2014.It was a popular trend in the 80s and it was also referred to as Jerry curls back then.
12. Peplum Dresses
The Peplum trend is a trend from 2011 and it has been trending ever since then. They come in varieties, we have Peplum tops, Peplum skirts, Peplum gowns and even Peplum belts. The Peplum trend really rocked 2014 and i believe it will trend this year too.

The silhouette trend is an old trend and it is part of the fashion trends that made the year 2014 fabulous one.
